  • 1 oz dried red reishi mushrooms
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh ginger
  • 2-3 tablespoons honey, or to taste
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)


  1. Using a sharp knife or a coffee grinder, cut or grind the dried red reishi mushrooms into small pieces or a coarse powder.
  2. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the water, reishi mushroom pieces or powder, and sliced ginger. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer for 20-30 minutes. The longer the tea simmers, the stronger the flavors will become.
  4. After simmering, strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a heatproof container, removing the reishi mushroom pieces and ginger slices.
